Vera Stanhope

I finished the Vera Stanhope series by Ann Cleeves and the final book was so well done. The Seagull is a great mystery spanning the decades and it brings Vera right into the past of her father. It’s the best book of the series.

But I like this series, I like the character, and I have no idea if Cleeves is done writing it or if she’s going to keep going, but Vera, the character, is super interesting to me. I’ve tried to watch the TV show, but honestly, the Vera in my head is nothing like that Vera so I can’t do it. And if this is the last book with Vera in it, that’s OK, because it’s a decent ending for it.
