The Hat Trilogy

I’ve been reading a lot of dystopian fiction and that, along with the news in general, has gotten me down, so I finally went to my list of books to read to look for something a bit more up lifting. I landed on this series by of picture books written by Jon Klassen. I Want My Hat Back, This Is Not My Hat, and We Found a Hat are really delightful books and well worth the read.

This series does what so many great picture books do, Klassen uses the illustrations to great effect for the story, I’d even go so far as to say that illustrations are what make the books great. My favorite by far is This Is Not My Hat but really, all three are delightful. Also the endings of two of the books were subtle and hilarious and not having kids around I’m not sure how much they would fully get understand them, but both G and I loved them.
